summer venue in mykonos by Omniview design

Omniview design has undertaken the rejuvenation project of the Super Paradise beach club in Mykonos, a summer destination that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding beach landscape. As the first beach bar in Mykonos, the Super Paradise holds historical significance and has a rich tradition of embracing diverse groups of people. This inclusive ethos remains at the core of the club’s identity and continues to shape its atmosphere.

The owners’ vision for the club was to combine high-end services, cutting-edge architecture, and a relaxed vintage vibe inspired by its original ambiance when it first opened its doors in 1971. To achieve this goal, the design team carefully selected natural elements like stone and wood, which contribute to a soothing ambiance that aligns with the local architectural style. The design also features little pockets and niches carved into the walls, drawing inspiration from traditional Cycladic interior motifs.

The architectural design of the club aims to create a harmonious fusion of land and sea, resulting in a space that feels unified and coherent. Additionally, incorporating granitic rocks adds a distinctive touch to the club’s overall aesthetic. By blending modern design elements with a nostalgic nod to its past, the Super Paradise Beach Club in Mykonos offers a unique and inviting environment for visitors to enjoy the beach experience while immersing themselves in the club’s rich history and welcoming atmosphere.

Super Paradise has established itself as a place of post-modern philoxenia, a Greek term meaning ‘friendship to strangers.’ The Omniview design team has executed a thorough examination of each element, approaching the craft with a fresh perspective on traditional motifs. The entrance, inspired by the aesthetics of groin vaults, showcases innovative geometric compositions that ingeniously combine primary and subtracted forms.

Meanwhile, the incorporation of small pockets of inhabitation on the walls draws inspiration from a traditional Cycladic interior motif, creatively adapted to serve functional purposes such as storing beverages along the bar wall and showcasing pottery art crafted by local artists. The playful exploration of deconstructing and reconstructing arcs extends to the pergola motifs and floor plan concepts, such as the outline of the bar, steps and DJ stand.
