Winners revealed for 2022 International VELUX Awards exploring innovation in daylight

The winners have been announced for the 2022 International VELUX Award. The biennial student competition, endorsed by the International Union of Architects (UIA) since 2004, invited participants to explore daylight through two categories: Daylight in Buildings and Daylight Investigations. “The award seeks to challenge the future of daylight in the built environment with an open-minded and experimental approach,” the organizers say.

These modernist developments are his only UK works, and all have Grade II listings and cult status among design fans. The former towel factory has reopened as XC273, featuring showrooms for Chinese and European fashion, art installations and a café across its original concrete shell.
