Belgian architect André Jacqmain designed this Ibizan villa as part of a ‘family and friends’ community in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia – in between Cala Moli and Cala Vadella. Jacqmain was a forerunner to postmodernism, and Villa Calo den Real is described as ‘cubism meets minimalism’, with the house paying particular attention to light and geometric volumes. See more.

 Zulaikha Laurence House in Sydney

Located in Balmain East, on the Sydney Harbourfront, Zulaikha Laurence House was designed by Tonkin Zulaikha Greer with Drew Heath Architect as a series of stepped glass volumes for its architect and artist owners in 2006. The striking house scooped the RAIA National Award for Residential Architecture in 2007 and is listed for sale via Modern House. It encompasses an original 1918 gunpowder store that has been altered and expanded by two storeys, just 20 metres from the harbour, and adapted into a modern home with water and tree views.

A Lisbon apartment ripe for renovation
