3XN's upcycled Quay Quarter Tower is the 2022 World Building of the Year

The final day of this year’s World Architecture Festival in Lisbon has culminated in 3XN ’s Quay Quarter Tower named the World Building of the Year during a special ceremony at the city’s historic converted Convento Do Beato. The 46-story Sydney tower provides a remarkable example of adaptive reuse to the industry, having retained some 65% of the original 1976 structure and a reported 95% of its core in the construction process that was completed in April of 2022.

Goettsch Partners' tiered office tower 'is the healthiest in Chicago'

Goettsch Partners (GP) has completed an office tower that it claims is the healthiest in Chicago. Called 320 South Canal, the 51-story structure is the latest in a series by the same team that focuses on tenant health and wellness. Image © Nick Ulivieri Photography The 1,740,000-square-foot tower features a conference center, fitness center, restaurant, to-go market, bank, a cocktail lounge in an adjacent structure, as well as parking for cars and bicycles.

UK real estate developer Art-Invest has announced Matthias Hollwich and the team at HWKN Architecture will be the designers for a new commercial tower at the Canada Water Dockside in London.
