Paris Design Week 2023 is underway, and to celebrate, CC-tapis presents a series of handwoven rugs made from unpublished 1972 colour studies by Charlotte Perriand.

The French architect and designer was five years into her seminal ski resort project, Les Arcs, when she created the technical drawings for woven textiles to enliven the apartments’ interiors. Spiralling costs on the project meant the designs were never realised, and they were largely forgotten for 40 years.

Perriand’s daughter, interior architect Pernette Perriand Barsac has partnered with the Italian rug manufacturer cc-tapis to revive six archival designs from her ‘Les Arcs Collection’, on show at Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire.

The textiles stay true to Perriand’s technical drawings by reproducing her ‘grand’ and ‘petit format’ colour proportions in 12 shades. The rugs are hung alongside unseen archival objects and illustrations by the French architect and designer until 22 January 2023.
