A new missive in the architectural community’s fight against the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been launched as this time, a group from inside the Federation has issued its own statement condemning the Kremlin for its purblind and illegal attempt at prosecuting a war. AIA awards research grants to five climate initiatives, from biodegradable structures to microgrids

The AIA has announced the winners of the 2022 Upjohn Research Initiative , an annual grant which awards funding to research projects advancing sustainability in architecture. The 2022 edition sees up to $30,000 awarded to five research projects, with topics ranging from biodegradable structures to pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. Each year, the grant recipients are chosen by a seven-member jury comprised of members from the AIA College of Fellows and AIA Board Knowledge Committee.

Paraguay studio Equipo de Arquitectura has completed a residence with vaulted brick ceilings on a narrow lot in Asunción, which opens to a courtyard with a mango tree. The Intermediate House comprises two blocks either side of the central, open-air courtyard. The architects referred to the entrance block as the "quincho", which loosely translates to "gazebo", while the second block at the back on the site contains the living room, kitchen, and bedroom.
