El Cinto

The Sanctuary of the Temple of the Virgen del Cinto is located in Quito, Ecuador on the hill of Huayrapungo (Gates of the Wind) is the Virgen del Cinto, patron saint of this place from where you can see a spectacular view of the south of Quito and enjoy of the magnificent landscape that the route of the volcanoes offers.

History
The story tells that a lady who lived in Lloa (Quito) went out every morning to sell cheese and milk, the sale of the day had been very bad, when she returned on her way home she was dazzled when looking at the image of the virgin on a stone. The church was built in the place where the virgin appeared.

Proyect
The project is designed to create a large viewpoint next to the temple and a cafeteria with direct connection to the viewpoint and the temple. The concept is based on the holy trinity of Christianity with an enigmatic form that is represented by the circle since this figure represents divinity, manifestation, unity and temporality.

The viewpoint and its importance of this observation point, the views not only lie in taking advantage of the landscape but also in enhancing natural, economic or social resources.

In the center of the viewpoint stands a large metal cross with Christ crucified, an iconic monument for the Catholic religion. The architectural form of the cafeteria is represented by a center, a circle and a circumference that form a triad of 3 rings within one.

In the first circle is the service, the second circle is commercial and the third is public. It has a distribution in very marked server spaces to give a greater flow and connectivity to the server space. Source by Arquitectura ID-ART.
