THE NEXT DAY BY LYNK & CO

LYNK & CO, the Chinese-Swedish automobile brand owned by Geely, has unveiled its latest concept car. Dubbed The Next Day, the futuristic car concept showcases the brand’s new design era that takes a step from the dark feel of its past examples, and moves into a lighter aesthetic focusing on technology.

Offering a business model suited to the shared, urban-focused future of mobility, LYNK & CO aims to make cars and car ownership smarter and easier. Whether you want to buy a model, borrow it, subscribe or share, the brand revolves around its supporting app where users can easily do so for set periods of time. With a digital core, the two vehicle models are equipped with a WIFI hotspot so that drivers are always online.

THE CAR CONCEPT BUILDS ON LYNK & CO’S NEW DESIGN ERA

The LYNK &CO The Next Day concept features a dramatic look with muscular proportions intercut by sharp lines. To access the four-seater, dual scissor-suicide doors open like butterfly wings, revealing the cabin. The brand’s trademarks are present in the design, including the rear lightbar and the twin vertical light strips on the bonnet.

Described as sunrise over a skyscraper-laden city, the inspiration behind the updated look is printed on the car’s paint job. It goes from a light gold on the front, forming a gradient all the way to the rear, where is boasts a blue shade.

The interior of the car expands on the sunset concept, where the carpet transitions from bright orange in the front to dark blue in the back. An overall blue feeling, complete with velvet-upholstered seats, render the car into a calm atmosphere. The yoke-like steering control sits next to a massive touchscreen display.

In regards to propulsion technology, The New Day features an all-new hybrid drivetrain called ‘E-Motive’, which Auto Express understands is an advanced new plug-in hybrid system utilizing a larger battery for extended all-electric range and greater performance, comments autodaily.
