Floris De Bruyn, a practicing architect at the firm GAFPA and professor at the KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture in Ghent, Belgium will present the next Daylight Talk:
Architecture as Theme, on Tuesday 22 March at 18:00 CET
Since 2008, Floris De Bruyn, Philippe De Berlangeer and Frederick Verschueren of GAFPA have followed their continuous fascination about deriving themes from the existing. The architectural firm intervenes on different levels, ranging from private houses to public buildings, from urban design operations to scenography. Similarly to the way the simple shed roof illuminates the factory in which they have their studio, natural light is part of the structural layout of each project.
Floris De Bruyn will disuss GAFPA’s daylight approach and strategies in educational and cultural projects. The Daylight Talk with Floris De Bruyn is hosted by UCLouvain and will be presented by the Head of the Leuven research institute for Landscape, Architecture, Built environment (LAB), Dr Sergio Altomonte.
The planned duration is 45 minutes, followed by an open 30 minutes of Q&A session.
The live online event takes place on Tuesday 22 March 2022 at 18:00 CET and participation is free.
