This Curvaceous Cat Scratcher From Amazon Will (Probably) Save Your Furniture

This Curvaceous Cat Scratcher From Amazon Will (Probably) Save Your Furniture

Finally, something for Mr. Fluffypants to use that isn’t the edge of your sofa.

The many joys of cat ownership are innumerable and specific to each cat and their particular person, but the downsides are relatively similar: hair on every available surface; the indignities of a litter box; and, most irritatingly, the scratching. Cats have claws, those claws are sharp, and some cats are simply not interested in doing anything other than what they want to do at that very moment, which means your sofa or beloved armchair is at your ward’s mercy. Regular cat scratching posts are generally hideous. Perhaps the solution for your cat’s very specific trouble lies is this cat scratcher/lounger/art piece (a stretch, but follow me) that is surprisingly not ugly and also, apparently wonderful.

Your feline friend is going to love the PetFusion Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge, and so will you and your couch! The sleek and innovative design combines a multi-surface scratcher, comfy curved lounger and cozy hideaway cave all in one.  Scratching is a perfectly natural, instinctual behavior...

It is a bit of a stretch to call this cat scratcher a piece of art, but it’s not ugly! Also, according to the faceless hordes of Amazon reviewers, it's actually useful, elegant, and has saved their furniture. The trouble with most cardboard cat scratchers is that the cardboard leaves little bits of itself all over the home; there’s little doubt in my mind that this scratcher has solved that particular problem, but something about the shape of it and, I assume, the quality, leads me to believe that the mess would be mitigated just a touch. The scratcher is also a lounge option for your cat, and it's sturdy enough to support the weight of even the plumpest felines.

At $54.99, the price feels a little steep for something that will eventually be thrown away, but the scratcher is reversible, so technically, you’re getting two scratchers in one. Once your cat has done its worst on one side, just flip it over, and it’s like a brand new toy. Your cat deserves this, but more importantly, so do you.
