The marina overhaul, named Stanton Yards, will see the existing storage and service-based site transformed into a 13-acre cultural destination with 80,000 square feet of commercial and creative space, 85 boat slips, and waterfront parks.

A total of 16.75% of the city's 88,800 overall acreage is considered vacant, according to statistics published in 2019 from Data Driven Detroit. A skyscraper designed by New York studio SHoP Architects at Detroit' s Hudson's Detroit development has topped out, making it the second tallest building in the city. Named the Tower, the 681-foot-high (207 metre) skyscraper forms part of a larger development in Downtown Detroit called Hudson's Detroit.
