‘(Re)membering the See Monster’ has been named as the overall winner of the 2023 Architecture Drawing Prize. The drawing, by Filipino architect and illustrator Eldry John Infante, was previously named as winner of the prize’s ‘Hybrid’ category, alongside winning drawings for the ‘Digital’ and ‘Hand-drawn’ categories.
The 2023 edition of the Architecture Drawing Prize attracted a record 250 submissions from around the world, with three winners crowned at the recent World Architecture Festival in Singapore. Tomorrow, drawings from the prize will go on display at an exhibition at Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, including finalists and category winners.
“We were impressed by this skillful and detailed drawing which has been digitally manipulated to create a very dynamic and varied composition,” Head of Exhibitions at Sir John Soane’s Museum and Prize Judge Louise Stewart said about the winning drawing upon its selection in November 2023. “One of the drawing’s particular strengths is the way in which it uses a variety of visual languages, all of which convey information about how buildings work.”
