Dutch architecture studio MVRDV has added a stepped roof and bright-coloured boxes to a former museum dedicated to Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha in the centre of Tirana , Albania. Between the stairs, a glass-fronted entrance and roof lights have been added along with a retained section of roof that can still be used as a slide.

To show their appreciation, the community members donated a small plot next to the local library for a guitar classroom, and TO Arquitectura held a workshop with the guitar students to develop the designs for a music school. Designed by local firm SAW , or Spiegel Aihara Workshop, the project entailed the overhaul and expansion of a 1930s, Spanish Revival-style dwelling that sits on a long, rectangular property. They lifted up the entire house and modernised the foundation using a thick mat slab. A roof deck offers a sweeping view of the city and the bay.
