Here I was using Autocad for detailed plans, Elevations and Sections, photoshop for applying colour, Archicad for quick 3d views, acrobat for compiling everything into design brochures to submit to the client. It can be a pencil sketch, a physical model, freehand, drafting board, digital.

Also I had some kind of an image processing package, not as advanced as photoshop, but it's what I had. The other method was to just set up the basic perspective and then sketch over that by hand. I was responsible for this small building from concept design to completion, and my toolkit was the Sketchup and Autocad I brought along on my laptop, along with Photoshop. For my part, I continue to pursue the goal of "sketching with Revit", if only because it has given me so much pleasure for the past seventeen years.

This should be enough for me to get the proportions of my outline sketch roughly right. So I did the same on the canvas and sketched out the picture in pencil. I did some watercolour work in the early days of lock down almost a year ago, and since then, the nearest thing has been apple pencil or Samsung stylus or photoshop mouse.

We have been using an Enscape3D network license to generate executables that can deliver VR experiences to our clients. One of these clients was asking if this technique could be extended to help them to grasp the specialist lighting design in a more visceral setting. This image is generated from Enscape, then processed in Photoshop.
