A circular wooden structure with a diameter of 700 metres is under construction off the coast of Japan as part of architect Sou Fujimoto 's masterplan for Expo 2025 Osaka. These will be divided across three zones, named Pavilion World, Water World and Green World, alongside a series of plazas to hold events.

London studio Woo Architects will employ the principles of a circular economy for its design of the UK Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka , which will have a reversible gridded structure. It is being masterplanned by Sou Fujimoto Architects in collaboration with fellow Japanese studios Tohata Architects & Engineers and Azusa Sekkei.

British architecture studio Foster + Partners has released visuals of its design for the Saudi Arabia pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka , which will be modelled on the kingdom's traditional villages. Another architect designing a pavilion for the event is Shigeru Ban.

New Orleans architecture studio Trahan Architects has designed the USA pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka , which will include a suspended cube surrounded by LED screens showing American landscapes. Expo 2025 is an upcoming world exposition of culture held in Osaka, Japan. Architect Sou Fujimoto created the masterplan for the event.

Saudi Arabia 's capital Riyadh has won the competition to host the 2030 World Expo, becoming the second Middle Eastern city to host the international event after Dubai in 2020. Other cities bidding to host the event, which takes place every five years, were Rome in Italy and Busan in South Korea.

Danish studio BIG 's masterplan for a 1,000-square-kilometre development will include an international airport and a hydroelectric dam incorporating a temple.
